Hi folks. We're home. We made it in about 4 hours by bypassing I-95 just after Fredericksburg. We took Rte. 17 up to 81 and then home to 78. Just a few shots of some of the things we did in Charleston. I have a lot more, but I think I need man_of_thor to give me a tutorial on how to embed a lj photo album. So, tomorrow we're going home. Charleston has been lovely, but I miss my stuff. I miss my cats. I miss my friends.

It's been a nice visit. We went to Charleston proper today and did the "Pirate Walking Tour". I knew most of the history of pirates to begin with but it was REALLY neat to see the actual sites. Blackbeard spent a great deal of time in Charleston. We got to see the "hanging" spots, the old dungeons (we'll do the Dungeon Tour next time), the jails, the inlets, etc... Heard the stories of Calico Jack and Anne Bonney. Steve Bonnet. It was a nice tour. Besides, even if I already knew the history of Piracy in America and the Caribbean, I would NEVER pass up a chance to wander around Old Charleston. For those of you who have never been in the deep, historic south, I suggest Charleston, Savannah, and New Orleans. Take the walking tours. Take the bus tours. You will not regret it.

Anyway, the Thanksgiving meal was great. I get more and more comfortable with my in-laws year after year although I never feel quite accepted. Well, I did officially produce a genetic grandchild for them so I guess they don't officially hate me. hehe
