I took my make up test today. I will be the realist I am and pray for a "C." I will be an optimist and pray for a "B."

The multiple choice section was a piece of cake. I read the works and I listed in lecture. That's all it takes. And that's half the grade.

I chose the essay comparing Idealism and Realism comparing and contrasting Poe, Franklin, and Bradstreet (A Puritan writer). Thank the gods he privately tutored me on Poe.

So we'll see. I don't think I got a "D" or an "F" and that's something.

I can't stress anymore. It's over. Thank the gods.

I only prayed Athena would guide me through.

Went over Poe and Hawthorne privately.

Scheduled test for Friday morning (only time I actually don't have some sort of therapy appointment).

Finished all four of me Ethics papers (Yes. Four.)

Finished two unit plans. Not sure what she wanted because I wasn't there so I did it two different ways.

Contacted Observation teacher and am setting up a time to meet with her. Looks like every Monday afternoon and every other Friday afternoon.

It looks like I've finished what I need to but the wind is really knocked out of my sails here. I'll do the work but It'll be a long time until I enjoy it again.

My professor is not a tool. He will privately go over the Poe material with me and I have to contact the Humanities department and we will set up a time before next Monday to take the exam.

Compassion must be first lesson you learn as a teacher. I'm glad he understood that lesson.

Oh, and in case anyone wants to know why I used that border...electricity and lightning plays a significant part of each novel; the animation of the monster, Nicholas Tesla and the New Transported Man, and the odd blue electrical phenomenon at the entrance to Castle Dracula.

I asked my English professor for a one week extension on the first exam. I missed the last class and the notes as well as having little inclination to study. Greg and I decided I should tell him the truth about what happened.

If he won't allow the extension I'll have to take the hit on a major exam. I hope I'll be able to absorb it in with the other two exams, the paper, and the quizzes.

I get to write four lesson plans for a unit of my choice so long as it's in my discipline. I have stayed away from LOTR because it's far too large a book. I have stayed away from Dune because I used it for a previous unit plan. What do you guys think? I tried to use shorter fiction or novellas.

Oh, and I'm just picking a random title so I can see the results.

Which book should I use for my mock Unit/Lesson Plan?

This came up in a class when the professor was pointing out how many typos he sees in papers. I know from Child Development and various other Psychology classes that the human mind will fill in the gaps of a partial picture and the viewer will see a whole image. I had no idea that this was true as well:

Someone in one of my book communities was compiling a "book" of poems for a friend learning English. She wanted our suggestions. I thought it would be interesting to ask all of you on my FList what your favorite poem(s) is(are). Just for our own benefit, not for the book community. Gothic Literature and Culture was dropped from the Spring and Summer semester. ::head desk:: I've been waiting to take this course for two years. So I called the head of the English Department today (who also happens to be the professor of this class). I asked, nay BEGGED him to allow me to take this course as an Independant Study because it wasn't going to be offered again until Spring 2009. Hopefully I'll be graduated by then. Haven't begged in a long time. Figured this class was worth prostrating myself before this professor (OK, on the phone technically).

I should hear back from him in about a week.

Six pages on whether or not Iago was just a dick or whether he suffered from Paranoid and Anti-Social Personality Disorders. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done.

I can now go to sleep and stop dreaming in Iambic Pentameter.
