Just got home from Fall Frolic a few hours ago. Missed the game. Saw the highlights.

No. I don't want to talk about it.

I'm pretty sure Mark doesn't want to talk about it either.

Leave us both alone.

That is all.

P.S. Shut up Larry.

Anniversary decisions

Greg and I were trying to figure out where to go for our anniversary. Ok, OK, I was trying to figure out where to go. He could care less. Just point him in the appropriate direction and say, "DRIVE!"

I really wanted to stay at the Lizzie Borden Inn for a long weekend up in Fall River. Problem was I dropped the ball. With our anniversary so near Halloween and so few rooms at the house, you have to book very far in advance. Ooops.

So...that's when it hit me! I know where we're going.

Canton, Ohio.

My poor husband is just going to have to suffer the indignities of his wife dragging him to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Oh, the humanity. :) The tenth anniversary I dragged him to an Eagles/Falcons game and now this...

We can probably drive out if we wanted or see if him mom has any available Frequent Flyer miles. It's not that far. We won't be going out there exactly on our weekend (his parents are flying in) but not long after.

And thus the madness begins...

I went to the thrift store today to see if I could get a stock pot for beeswax. No such luck.

I got a few black muscle shirts for Greg (cuz he has to show off his tattoos at the convention Friday), a pair of play jeans for Maddie, a couple of wicker baskets and a great set of vintage Eagles beer mugs (for 99 cents each I might add!).

I also found a Terrel Owens Dallas jersey. It's a good one too. Stitched number and name. Probably cost about $80-100.00 new. I got it for $6.00. I take all my loot up to the counter and the cashier starts ringing it up. She carefully wraps the Eagles mugs. Then she get to the clothes and sees the Owens jersey. She looks up at me and raises an eyebrow. I says to her, I says, "It's for the sacrifice. Every year I find a Dallas object and I destroy it the day before the season starts. This will meet with lighter fluid and a match." See seemed relieved. She says to me, she says, "OK. I thought there was some weird freaky shit going on in your house."

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

That made my day.

So freakin' awesome

ETA: For those who may not know who this is: Vincent Papale. He was Special Teams Captain and WR for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1976-78. He was the inspiration for the movie Invincible though there were a few distorted "facts" to make the movie better. Vince's wife was never a Giants fan. She was always an Eagles fan. Everyone in Philly knew that was just totally made up. Vince didn't walk on the field and try out. He was invited to a private work-out. Vince never played college ball but he did play for the Philadelphia Bell of the WFL. It was true, however, that when he made the Eagles at the age of 30, he was in fact the oldest NFL Rookie on record to play without college experience...

Whooot!!

Oh yeah! Oh yeah! It's your birthday! It's your birthday!

OK, maybe not the birthday thing.

Tomorrow night at Stabler Arena! VINCE PAPALE!! 6-8PM

We're so there. I wrote to him after we got back and told him we recognized him. He said it was too bad we didn't say hi. "Maybe some other time." That other time is TOMORROW!

Oh, and Greg Luzinksi is going to be there too. Husband said something about him being some sort of baseball player. I wonder what team. ::shrugs shoulders::

Apologies to all this may offend

So we've lost a grand total of six players (4 UFAs and 2 trades). Good players. Stable players. Intelligent players. We only picked up two UFAs. Whoot. We're also on track to lose John Runyan. Reports in Philly say they aren't going to try hard to keep him.

I understand the idea of bringing younger talent into the team, but to lose six good players in one shot and seemingly pin your hopes on the draft seem..well, in a word, foolish. You take 30 players from the draft and maybe keep 3 or 4 of them. Jackson was a golden pick. We've done well with Baskett and Avant as well but out of how many we picked up over those draft years? We should have tried harder for Housh. Hell, we should have tried harder for anyone. I'm so devestated at the loss of Dawk (and now Tra Thomas) that I think I could cry. And for what? You think we're going to win the Superbowl this year? This is a reconstruction, locker room shakeup year. The next few years are going to suck.

But then again, the Eagles' management knows so much more than the average sports analyst. Remember all those Superbowls we've won. They must be doing something right.

It seems as though Brett plans to retire...for good?

Sure. I'll believe it when I see it.

OK.

So.

1. I won $25

2. The Eagles had three games they never should have had.

3. The Eagles both knocked out AND humiliated the Cowgirls.

4. No other NFC East team will go to the Superbowl. If we don't you don't.

5. I'm glad they shit the bed here as opposed to in the Superbowl. I don't want to start down the road to being the 21st Century's Bills.

And I can honestly say that if the Steelers win this will be the first Superbowl I have zero interest in.

Oh, and I can finally wash my sweatshirt much to the delight of my husband...

EDIT: OMG No matter what I say I am soooooooooooo upset. :(

Viked from Incrediboo in my Eagles forum.

Eli is In.
Donovan is out.

Eli: 60.3% 2938yrds.20tds 10ints 86.4 rating
Donovan: 60.9% 3511yrds 21tds 11ints 86.7 rating

And don't tell me it is because Eli's team has a better record.

Donovan has thrown the ball 504 times while Eli has thrown it 433 times. He does not throw the ball as much as Donovan, which means he's less involved. The success of the team does not weigh as much on him as it does Donovan.

Uh huh. Did you expect any less from the NFL?
